"How much is this going to cost me?"
It's a fair question. Your pool should be the best part of the backyard. The place the kids run to after school, where everyone ends up on a hot Saturday. Keeping it that way shouldn't come with a mystery bill.

Why pool service prices vary
A pool in full sun in Dover Heights needs more chemistry than a shaded pool on the North Shore. An ageing chlorinator needs closer attention than one that's been looked after.
So if someone gives you a flat rate over the phone before seeing your pool, treat it as a flag.
What moves the price:
- Pool size and water volume
- Sun exposure, as UV breaks down chlorine faster
- How often the pool gets used, a family pool in daily use needs more correction
- Equipment condition, a well kept pump and filter costs less to service
- Indoor or outdoor, indoor pools lose less to sun and evaporation

How much does a regular pool service cost?
A regular pool service covers water testing, cleaning, an equipment check and a chemical top up.
Typical cost: from $100 to $150 a visit, depending on your pool.
Is weekly or fortnightly servicing better value?
Weekly almost always wins. The water stays balanced between visits, so each visit has less to fix. With fortnightly visits the water drifts further, and pulling it back takes more time and more chemicals.
Best value: weekly, especially through summer.
How much does green pool recovery cost?
A green pool needs more than a quick clean. We find out why it turned, treat the water, clean the walls and floor, and check the equipment. Doing it properly takes time.
Typical cost: more than a regular service for the first visit. We quote once we've seen the pool.
Why chemicals change the price
Chemicals are where the real differences hide.
Cheap salt from a discount supplier dissolves faster, works your chlorinator harder and needs topping up more often. Professional grade salt lasts longer, holds balance between visits and is easier on your equipment.
